It is a well known fact that the offshore outsourcing (or any type of outsourcing for that matter) carries known and unknown risks. The important thing is to find out if your offshore outsourcing provider is aware of these risks and has a plan to either mitigate it or eliminate it altogether. In this post, I will share some of known risks related to offshore outsourcing. Risk One: Requirement Misunderstanding - Many times it happens that the requirements get written in a hurry to get the project started as soon as possible. This is okay if the project is being done inhouse. However if it being outsourced, it becomes a risk. He says he sat down and really contemplated the situation with all his might: what 'clean' is. That is where his success started, George Washington Carver reports in this old interview.

1. In general, association appears to be linked to faster running times;

The first step in this process is to become more aware of your thoughts before, during and after training and a competition. If you want to gain more control over your thoughts, try to formulate a simple plan and try it out over a number of weeks during training. If you notice any undesirable patterns in your thinking, such as negative self-talk or loss of focus, you can combat these by planning more positive alternative thoughts. You can, for example, frame positive statements that you repeat to yourself regularly. Ideally, write these statements down and place them in prominent positions where you can’t avoid seeing them.
Association involves entering a more concentrated state when you can react to changes within your body. And focusing on internal states like rhythmical breathing can help you feel more relaxed during physical activity. The down side however is that there is some evidence between association and injury; some athletes, it appears, choose to associate with pain and fatigue-related symptoms and end up pushing themselves too hard.

When exercising, competing or performing for long periods of time, the mind can wander freely, if you let it. When this happens, your natural internal dialogue – or self-talk – becomes important. If your concentration does stray or your body monitoring detects fatigue, it is vital that your self-talk remains positive. The best thing is to avoid over-emotional self-talk and focus on self-instructing, motivational content. To this end, you can plan and even rehearse what you are going to say to yourself beforehand,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just like you might rehearse an important telephone call or speech. This is where a coach comes in handy as well.
So what should you be thinking about? Two very different mental strategies have emerged, both commonly used by élite athletes.
When trying to decide which strategy might be best for you, it is important to consider your personal situation, preferences and goals. A training goal for example might be to relieve boredom and monotony, in which case dissociation, with active mental processing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], might be most beneficial.
When it comes to peak performance, it’s your thoughts that count
So during your next training session become more aware of your thoughts. Sure, this might distract you from your workout, but this will become second nature after a while. The when you are journaling workout, jot down your thoughts. After a while you’ll begin to see a correlation between your thoughts and the quality of your workout.
Dissociation may also benefit athletes and performers who want to improve their endurance longer at moderate intensities. However, because dissociation works by distracting the mind, it might work against an athlete setting an ideal pace for optimum performance. The reason why association appears so important in competition is that, by monitoring bodily responses, an athlete can ride that thin line between pushing for maximum performance and overdoing it.
Association - Involves focusing on bodily sensations and monitoring any changes – usually internal – that occur,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Breathing rate and muscular sensations provide physiological cues that allow you to pace yourself with a view to avoiding or minimizing pain.
Thoughts Matter!
The aspects of positive thinking and focus discussed here have been shown to increase the likelihood of achieving flow, although environmental factors can also be important. Don’t leave your mental strength preparation to chance. Remember that you control your thoughts; your thoughts DO NOT control you. The way you think is strongly linked to the way you perform.
For example, during a 30-minute cardio session you might decide on cyclic phases of thinking – i.e. 10 minutes of body monitoring, 10 minutes of alphabet game, then more body monitoring to the end. It’s all perfectly logical once you get started: you wouldn’t leave your physical preparations to chance, so why allow your thoughts to crop up in random fashion.
Learn to Script Your Internal Dialogue
The key is to stay positive even when the situation is less than ideal. This is not an easy feat to pull off and will take some time to master.
Work on recalling these statements when you become aware of negative thoughts or feelings. This might seem a little strange at first, but you are actually programming your brain to notice more ‘positives’ and, over time,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this will become a habit.
Association and Dissociation
Most successful élite athletes have been shown to combine associative and dissociative strategies when planning their thoughts. There are times, especially in an extreme event, i.e. long distance race, climbing a mountain, long distance swimming, when you need to be very aware of your own physical state and of events in the external environment.
Your mental state and, particularly, your thoughts that infiltrate your mind absolutely affect the way you feel and perform during an event. It is normal for athletes to plan their physical strategy in minute detail, but how many systematically plan what they are going to think about during training or competition?
There are also times when you can plan to ‘switch off’ and give yourself a break from the mental demands of competition or training. The best thing is to construct a plan with your coach. Try to decide what the best approach is for you,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and plan what you will be thinking about during the competition and training sessions.
Dissociation - Is about directing attention away from bodily sensations by a form of distraction designed to reduce the athlete’s awareness of fatigue or effort. This can be achieved by many means, including music. However, more ‘active’ strategies like counting tasks or the alphabet game might be more effective. Try to be creative and have fun with dissociation. It can help you relax and enjoy your performance even more.
In fact the nature and quality of your thoughts make the difference between winning and losing, enjoying or hating your training, and may even impact on your decision to stay with your performance program.
Having worked with and questioned athletes and peak performers on their thoughts over a number of years, I can tell you that the number of performers who actually plan their thoughts is surprisingly small (notice that there are also a small percent of elite performers…hum…any connection?) I say surprising because, as a mental strength coach, I am aware of the scientific research and what it has been showing for a number of years, and that is…
In the following article I’ll discuss mental strength as it relates to athletics. However,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this information can be applied to any event or performance that requires concentration, i.e. sales presentation, giving a speech, giving a recital, etc. Also,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the foundation of mental strength and personal thought control applies to every aspect of your life!
Much of the scientific evidence comes from studies of elite athletes and peak performers. A great book on this subject is “The Body Has a Mind of Its Own.” Neuroscientists have shown that we have thousands of thoughts running through our minds each and every day. Athletes for example spend a large percentage of their time thinking sport-related thoughts, but most of these are unplanned and random. The first step towards becoming more organized and purposeful in your thinking is to become more aware of them.
Athletes often recall that their very best performances are accompanied by few thoughts, a feeling of complete control, effortless movements and a sense of being ‘on automatic pilot’…this is the ‘state of flow’.

The question is, what can we do to help redress these distortions of sensory perception. There are structures within the brain, which act to 'tune' sensory attention. These three structures, which allow us to tune our attention are structures, which enables us to ‘tune out’ background interference when we wish to selectively attend to something in particular. They also enables us to ‘tune in’ to another stimulus when we are attending to something completely different. They are the same mechanisms of the brain, which allows us to listen to what our friend is saying to us, even when we are standing in the midst of heavy traffic on a busy road. It is these mechanisms that allow us, even though we are in conversation in a crowded room, to hear our name being spoken by someone else across that room. It is these mechanisms, which allow a mother to sleep though various loud, night-time noises such as her husband snoring, or an aeroplane passing overhead and yet the instant her new baby stirs, she is woken. It is a remarkable feature of the human brain and it is the responsibility of three structures operating cooperatively; - these are the ascending reticular activating formation, the thalamus and the limbic system.
This procedure should be continued for as long as necessary, - for several weeks or months. Indeed, some children might always need periods of time within the 'safe haven.' As the child begins to accept and be at ease in his safe haven, stimulation in whatever sensory modality is causing the difficulties, should begin to be introduced at a very low level,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so low in fact that it is hardly noticeable. If the child tolerates this, then it can be used more frequently until it becomes an accepted part of the sensory environment. If the child reacts negatively in any way, then the stimulus is withdrawn and reintroduced at a later date. In this way, we can very gradually begin to build the level of tolerance, which the child has towards the stimulus.

I believe the sensory system of some children with autism is experiencing similar difficulties to that of a newborn, - at one end of the autistic spectrum, the cortex is being over-excited by these structures and the person is overwhelmed and has difficulty accommodating the mass of sensory stimulation within the environment. At the other end of the autistic spectrum, the cortex is being under-excited and the person has trouble in perceiving sensory stimulation from the environment. The question is; - How do we facilitate the re-tuning of this neurological system in individuals who have autism
Treatment
What do we mean when we say autism is a 'spectrum disorder?'
From this time, autism has been looked upon as a disorder, which develops as a consequence of abnormal brain development. Recently, evidence has shown that in some cases, the abnormal brain development may be caused by specific genes.
The three structures just mentioned receive sensory information from the sense organs and relay the information to specific areas of the cortex. The thalamus in particular is responsible for controlling the general excitability of the cortex (whether that excitability tunes the cortex up to be overexcited, tunes it down to be under excited, or tunes it inwardly to selectively attend to it’s own internal sensory world.) The performance of these neurological structures, or in the case of our children, their distorted performance seems to be at the root of the sensory difficulties our children face and yes, their performance CAN be influenced, - they can be re-tuned.
What is the cause of autism?
On a descriptive level, autism involves a dysfunction of the brain's systems,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which control communication,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], socialisation, imagination and sensory perception. My theory is that it is the distortions of sensory perception, which are so characteristic of autism, which exacerbates many (but not all) of the other difficulties. Imagine a child suffering from autism who suffers distortions of sensory perception. For instance, the child who suffers distortions of visual perception, might find situations which require eye -contact to be exceptionally threatening,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or on the other end of the scale might become obsessive about specific visual stimuli. The child who suffers distortions of tactile perception, might at one end of the spectrum find any situation which requires physical contact to be terrifying, whilst at the other end of the spectrum,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they might be a 'sensation seeker' to the point of becoming self -injurious. The child who suffers distortions of auditory perception might at one end of the spectrum, be terrified of sounds of a certain pitch or intensity, whereas at the other end of the spectrum,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they might actively seek out,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or become obsessive about certain sounds.
Autism has become the 'hot potato' of the 21st century. The rise in the number of cases being diagnosed, (now estimated at nearly 4 in every thousand children born), and the argument as to vaccine implicated causation has ensured that if the average member of the public has heard of only one disability, it is more likely than not autism.
We believe at Snowdrop, that our sensory re-tuning environments offer the best chance for children to overcome such distortions of sensory perception.
So, how do we recognise autism?
So what is autism? First of all, we must make some distinctions. There are various types of difficulty within the spectrum of disability of which we are speaking. The major distinctions are as follows.
In the 1960s and 1970s there arose a theory that autism was caused by abnormal family relationships. This led on to the ‘refrigerator mother’ theory, which claimed that autism in the child was caused by cold, emotionless mothers! (Bettleheim, 1967). However the weight of evidence quickly put this theory to bed as evidence was found to support the idea that the real cause was to be found in abnormalities in the brain. This evidence was quickly followed by findings, which clearly demonstrated that the EEG's of children with autism were, in many cases, atypical and the fact that a large proportion of children also suffered from epilepsy.
When the term, 'spectrum disorder' is used it means that there are a range of symptoms, which can be attributed to autism. Any one individual may display any combination of these symptoms, in differing degrees of severity. Therefore an individual at one end of the autistic spectrum may seem very different to an individual at the other end of the spectrum.
The fact is that 'many roads lead to Rome.' - There are likely to be several factors both genetic and environmental, which can ultimately lead to the type of brain dysfunction, which we call autism.
For the child at the other end of the autistic spectrum, the child whose sensory attentional system is not exciting the cortex enough, with the consequence that he is not noticing enough of the stimulation in his sensory environment, the approach needs to be the exact opposite. These are the children who we see producing self-stimulatory behaviour. I believe that this behaviour is an attempt by the nervous system to provide itself with what it needs from the environment, - a sensory message of greater intensity! We see many children with autism 'flapping' their hands in front of their eyes, or becoming visually obsessed by certain toys,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], movements, colours etc. I propose that this is a reaction by the nervous system to attempt to increase the intensity,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], frequency and duration of the sensory stimulus due to a problem with perceiving visual stimuli from the environment.
However, we should not forget that genes can only express themselves if the appropriate environmental conditions exist for them to do so and so, we should not rule out additional, environmental causes for autism. We should not forget that autism can also be caused by brain-injury,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that an insult to the brain can produce the same effects as can abnormal development of the brain, which may have been caused by genetic and other environmental factors. I have seen too many children who have suffered oxygen starvation at birth, who have gone on to display symptoms of autism. So, it is my view that autism can also be caused by brain-injury.
There are also other possibilities, which can ultimately produce the type of brain dysfunction, which we recognise as autism. There is a great deal of research being carried out at the moment in the area of 'oxidative stress' and methylation and it's effects upon the integrity of neural networks. There is also the debate surrounding mercury levels in vaccines, which is as of yet, unresolved.
Failure to make eye contact.
Difficulty in sharing attention with anyone.
Avoiding interaction with others
Avoiding physical contact
Seeming disconnected from the environment.
Appearing not to notice anything visually.
Visual distraction, as though the child is looking at something which you cannot see.
Visual obsession with particular features of the environment.
Inability to 'switch' visual attention from one feature of the environment to another.
General discomfort with the visual environment.
Appearing not to hear anything.
Auditory distraction, as though listening to something which you cannot hear.
Auditory obsession with particular sounds within the environment.
Inability to 'switch' auditory attention from one sound within the environment to another.
Inability to 'tune out' extraneous sounds in the environment.
General discomfort with the auditory environment.
Appearing not to feel much sensation.
Appearing to bee distracted by tactile stimuli of which you are not aware.
Obsession with particular tactile sensations within the environment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Appears unable to 'switch' tactile attention from one sensation to another.
General discomfort with the tactile environment.
Difficulty in communicating with others.
Of course, children with autism display a far greater range of difficulties than a theory, focused upon a malfunctioning sensory – attentional system could explain. I am not attempting to claim that sensory problems on their own are an adequate explanation for every facet of autism, - that would be ridiculous! This is merely a possible explanation of a range of issues experienced by some children who have autism, which could be produced or exacerbated by the child suffering distortions of sensory perception. For instance, the following symptoms within the autistic spectrum could possibly be explained at the sensory level.
We believe at Snowdrop that for the child at the end of the autistic spectrum who is suffering an amplification of sensory stimulation, we should create a setting where he can retreat from a world,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which is overwhelming his immature sensory system. This 'adapted environment,' which should be as free as possible from all visual, auditory, tactile and olfactory stimulation will serve as a milieu where his sensory system can re-tune itself. Of course it may just be a single sense like vision, or hearing, or tactility, or any combination of senses, which are causing the difficulties and the environment may be adapted appropriately. The child suffering these difficulties will usually welcome this adapted environment, which is in effect a 'safe haven' for his immature sensory system. He should be given free access to, or placed within the adapted environment as needed and you will notice hopefully that he will relax and begin to enjoy being within its safe confines, where there are no sensory surprises.

When she is disconnected from that feminine essence,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], she is disconnected from her vibrancy and her radiance, and as a result, is noticed less. Make time every day to practise breathing, moving and loving your feminine essence. You will feel your presence expand. You will also love the compliments that come your way.

Strong personal presence is cultivated by a combination of many things. It is not a simple formula. In my opinion, the three biggest factors are:
Being present is inherently joyful. Being present is also the gateway to our emotional freedom. Practice presence,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], not just to attract more attention and feel more feminine,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but to experience more enlightenment.
What takes you out of the present moment when you walk into a room,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]? Is it fear of what others will think? Is it incessant thinking about what you have to do later in the day? Do you feel being there is a waste of your time?
When I connect to my center of gravity, which is what I call my ‘energetic power center’, I instantly feel present and strong. This point is what many yogis and martial artists call ‘dantien’,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and is found approximately two inches below and behind the navel. This is the first place I go to when I want to be present in my body. When a woman is “in her body,” she is grounded to the earth and not floating away with thoughts about tomorrow. She feels the physical and energetic sensations pulsing through her. There is ‘aliveness’ to her that others pick up on. Actors and dancers often have a lot of personal presence, as they understand the importance of having a strong sense of physicality. When a woman is connected to her body, she has better posture and moves more fluidly. This increases presence. Feeling your body is a great anchor if you ever have trouble being present in a situation. Put your attention on the physical and energetic sensations you feel in your body as you read on.
The passageway out of these distractions and into the present moment is witnessing your thoughts and emotions. Sometimes I catch myself not being present with someone because I am consumed with a thought. In those moments I take a step back in my mind to first witness the thought,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and then let it slide right past. When I witness my mind I’m not fooled into believing I am the mind. I then come back to putting my attention on that person and the energy between us.

If you are the business owner or supervisor, a good manager must be aware of his or her employees needs to avoid employee burn out. It costs a LOT of money to lose a good, responsible employee. It will take a lot longer time to hire, re-train and hope that you have someone as motivated as the person you lost! By taking care of your employees with good communication and wellness programs you can avoid losing your best workers. Happy employees are also more productive, and a pleasure to work with. It is imperative to realize it will be your best workers who burn out first.
Taking medications for symptoms is like putting a bandaid on an infection. Your symptoms improve until you listen to your heart and do some re-evaluating about the way you are working,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Are you taking on too much,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]? Do you need to learn to say "no"? Is it possible that others can do a job well even if it isn't done the way YOU would do it? What is burnout? It is chronic stress brought on by overwork. Burn out can have many different symptoms including chronic fatigue, susceptibility to colds, headaches, muscle aches, and quickness to anger and irritability,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and difficulty sleeping.
If you are your own boss, you have two choices about how to deal with burnout: prevention (preferable) and/or treatment. Hopefully you will chose to prevent burn out by taking good care of yourself and being aware of your own needs for time and space away from your work. Those breaks refresh you and can even be the times when new innovative ideas come to you.
If you are your own boss, you might want to think about yourself as your best employee! Give yourself credit, always using positive language and affirmations to be supportive of how much you care and the effort you put into doing the best job. But sometimes doing the best job is taking a break from work. Reconnect with your friends, spend time in nature, play, have fun! Do you "motivate" your sales team around the very same objectives that YOU felt were important when you were a salesperson? THAT is conventional sales management...and "conventional thinking" is what we are trying to avoid,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Do you blindly follow "the Golden Rule"?
How he lives and manages his businesses are by making massive goals, taking massive action and doing things "unconventionally" to achieve those goals. When everyone zigging...he's zagging. One of his famous quotes:

The real truth is that there is no ONE way to do it. So conventional thinking would dictate that this means that ALL your salespeople are all driven by money too, right?
